Character —
Character Name: Pavetta Fiona Elen
Character Canon: The Witcher (Netflix)
Character Age: 23
Canon Point: After falling from the ship into the sea
Link to History: show history; book history
Inventory: Essentially just her clothes, jewellery, perhaps a small satchel.
Powers —

Skills: Pavetta is the only daughter of the Queen of Cintra, and as such was raised as befits a noble. Raised to one day rule. Learning history and politics and languages. (Calanthe no doubt wished that Pavetta was more inclined towards battle and fighting, but she instead tends towards the quiet and bookish.)
Superpowers:

  • Chaos Magic: (From the Wiki) Chaos (also known as the Force, Power, primordial Chaos) is the power harnessed and used by mages, sorceresses, and druids. All magic comes from Chaos. They can extract magical energy from the four elements, transport themselves over great distances, put up protective shields, and heal, as well as kill, in the blink of an eye.

    • Porting: The ability to teleport herself and others from one place to another. She needs to know the ending location or risk herself or anyone traveling through her portal to end up in the wrong place, or in the worst cases, be ripped apart. It also takes focus.

    • Telepathy: The ability to send and receive information via mental communication.

    • Healing: The ability to mend minor wounds (cuts, gashes, and the like), but not sufficient to tend to fully heal a mortal wound. (She could perhaps serve as a stopgap measure to keep someone from dying long enough to get them to someone who CAN, but by herself it's not nearly enough, and she would probably push herself to the point of collapse doing so.)
    • Protective Shields: The ability to put up a shield around a person or a place (such as as a building). It takes focus. This is exhausting, and the larger the space that’s being protected the more draining it can be.

  • Elder Blood: The blood/genes carried by those descended from Lara Dorren that carries powerful magic with it. Pavetta has a great deal of power, being one such descendant, and some of it can be latent, but with Mousesack’s careful teachings, she’s learned control. (However, Elder blood is still prone to activating instinctively under moments of high emotions and stress.) And magic.

    • Shattering Scream: The ability to release sound waves of such an amplitude that people will be flung away from her, and objects will shatter, crumble, and explode. Can be heard from miles away and could potentially cause physical pain to individuals with advanced hearing.

      • Telekinesis: The power to move, manipulate or otherwise interact with objects/matter without using any physical means; the strength of her scream can cause people, objects, etc to go flying.

      • Whirlwind: The ability to create a whirlwind centred on herself powerful enough to keep others blown backwards/away. Can be disrupted by distraction, such as a Witcher using aard on her.

      • Levitation: The ability to levitate off the ground at great heights without wings.

      • Teleportation: Pavetta can scream so fiercely that she can teleport herself and someone with her somewhere else. (This is rare; Pavetta tends more towards telekinesis, whirlwinds and levitation when she screams.)

    • Clairvoyant Trance: The ability to perceive events while in a dream-like state. She doesn't always remember these moments, and if she does remember it won't always be with a crystal clear meaning.

    • Dimensional Travel: The ability to travel between different dimensions and universes, and cross over different planes of existence or travel across various forms of reality.

Limitations: While she has a great deal of control now, thanks to Mousesack, Elder blood is still prone to activating instinctively under moments of high emotions and stress. And Pavetta is only human, despite her powerful elven bloodline, with all the limitations and frailties that come with it. She can still be hurt and become sick. She can be killed. She can die. If she pushes herself too hard it takes a toll. She can collapse or pass out.

With Chaos Magic balance is required, even if Druids approach things quite differently from mages and sorceresses. And it takes a toll as well, especially if she's using her magic on a greater scale.

Dimensional travel is going to be nerfed, and any clairvoyance will need player approval or mod-approval. (I offer her powers up to the mods should they want to use them for any shenanigans.)

I'd like for her to keep the porting power, but much as in canon, she'll need to be familiar with where she's portalling in order to do it.

For her adaptive learning, it'll require player consent for anything she could learn from player characters. And at first it's going to be overwhelming for her. (My primary goal with it is to mostly just use it for littler things like gymnastics and archery and to avoid most of the learning curve with technology. Might have fun with it later on with powers and such, but she's quite content with the powers she already has.)
Personality —
Please EITHER (1) Summarize your character's personality — including motivations, behaviors, and psychology — in 300-600 words OR (2) Respond to the questions below.

  • What were your character's most formative experiences?: Pavetta’s most formative experiences involve Duny for the most part. Meeting him and falling in love with him. Becoming pregnant with Ciri. The confrontation at her betrothal party, where Duny’s curse was broken and Geralt gained a child of surprise. Later, when she realised that the man she loved had lied to her, had ulterior motives in getting her and their daughter to leave Cintra.

  • What values, morals, and/or philosophies does your character live by, and how are those beliefs demonstrated? What happens when they have to compromise what they believe in? Pavetta is... she very much believes that everyone is equal and no one should be treated as lesser because they're not human. Which conflicts a great deal with her mother's approach to things. Duny was cursed when Pavetta first met him, and she fell in love with him. His curse didn't matter to her. Whereas it mattered a whole LOT to Calanthe. She is caring, and loving, and feels with her whole heart. She's stubborn, though, much like her mother, although she's quieter about it. And she's... reluctant, heartbroken, if she has to compromise what she believes in.

  • What is your character afraid of? How does avoiding or preventing these fears influence their actions and decisions? Pavetta is afraid of something happening to her daughter. To her people. But with Ithlinne’s prophecy and Duny’s machinations she’s so very afraid of someone hurting Ciri to prevent the prophecy from coming true. Preventing those fears was why she fled with Duny and Ciri, and why she smuggled Ciri off the ship and back to her mother once she became aware of Duny's machinations. Because no one would protect Ciri more than Calanthe.

  • What goals does your character have right now? What do they want, and how do they go about getting it? Her goal was to protect Ciri. And she suspected that Duny had alterior motives for their journey. Which is why she smuggled Ciri off the ship and back to Calanthe. Which led to the argument with Duny and her falling from the ship into the sea. She died to protect her family.

  • Gameplay —
Areas of Interest / Brainstorming: I'm looking forward to exploring life after death for Pavetta. Her dealing with her husband's betrayal, what happened to her family, her people. And moving on. (Finding love? Who knows.) She will be... overwhelmed, at first. Since this world is a lot different than what she's used to. But there's so much to see and to learn, and she's always been bookish and keen on learning. Most importantly, she'll have a chance to spend time with her daughter, all grown up. She's only caught a glimpse of her, once or twice, so getting to know Cirilla as the young woman she's become will be a wonderful gift that she'll cherish. She's dead in her world, and she doesn't know if being kept from dying here will be enough to keep her from dying there, so she's going to want to LIVE, here. (And she has some of her family here, so she will have less, possibly NO, desire to return.)
